The Louisville Detachment supports the Navy’s gun systems, which includes responsibility for the various gun fire control systems, as well as radar and communication systems that make the gun system operational. The workforce is also responsible for the gun, gun mount, and ammunition handling systems. Personnel assist the Navy with the evolution of new naval gun technologies and equipment.
